Acropolis Chapter 39 of Haverhill, MA has been around for a long time. The membership from the founders right up to the present members have worked very hard to maintain the efforts of AHEPA and keep the chapter's legacy alive.

In 1821, after nearly 400-years of Ottoman oppression, the Greeks bound together under a flag bearing the cross, to fight for freedom and justice in the land which gave the world democracy. Like the revolution which took place in America 45 years earlier, Greece would embark on a journey forever linking our two countries in their struggle for freedom and independence.To this date we continue our various goals adding new ones as we grow.

AHEPA is the largest Greek-American association in the world with chapters in the United States, Canada, Greece, Cyprus, and sister chapters in Australia and New Zealand. It was established in 1922 by visionary Greek Americans to protect Hellenes from prejudice originating from the KKK, and in its history, AHEPA joined with the NAACP and B'nai B'rith International to fight discrimination.
